Love it! This one is on my short list!

When I hear the crackling fire and the host says, “Welcome listener, I’m glad you’re here. Take a seat, next to the fire,” my mind and body just relax, and I settle in to enjoy the story. His voice is perfect for true crime narration. There are so many true crime podcast available, but this one is on my short list.

Main beef: Tone & Inflection

I enjoy this podcast but find that Justin’s cadence when reading is the most irritating feature. It’s comparable to someone dancing off beat. That’s my main beef. The stories are original, well researched and raw. Justin also seems to care for his listeners. That means something. I’ll keep listening but please improve the reading!!

The Best True Crime Podcast Out There

Justin has a very soothing voice that draws you in immediately. Then you need to buckle up, because unlike other podcasts he’s not afraid to give you the dirty details. If you join his Patreon you get the Black Label episodes which are my favorite ones. Good job, Justin and crew!

Campfire storytelling

This show absolutely pulled me in. Not only can you hear a fire crackling in the background to add to the campfire vibe, Justin has the perfect storytelling voice. Always respectful to victims and detailed. I’m always so excited when a new episode pops up!

Love this podcast but where’s the new episodes?

This podcast quickly became one of my favorite TC podcasts out there so you can imagine my dismay when new episodes stopped being released regularly. I wish that the host would at least be better about giving us updates about what’s going on since there seems to no longer be a set schedule for the release of new episodes. Fans are gonna lose interest and move on if we don’t know what’s going on and when episodes will be released.

Good content!

I’m always looking for good true crime podcasts and even though I have heard many famous cases in different podcast, I still believe it doesn’t matter if new evidence or details are disclosed, it also depends on the host ability to narrate and I believe he has all that. I will be looking forward for new episodes :)

Perfect for true crime peeps

Yes. I started with Serial. I keep trying to get recommendations for other TC podcasts. I devour them and then ask for more. This is by far my favorite as of today. There is no crazy weird “discussion” about every little detail and no rambling personal opinions. I like a storyteller with real audio and true facts. Justin seems genuine and cares about his listeners. Because of that I stopped monetarily supporting another fav podcast and am now supporting Obscura! You WILL love this podcast if you are a true crime aficionado 👍🏻🔥

One of the best true crime podcasts

Obscura is my favorite true crime podcast. I love the host, I love the structure, I love the cases. He’s passionate, smart, well researched and respectful. I love his voice and feeling like I’m sitting at the fire with him. If you’re on the fence, don’t be. Give this show your time and you won’t be disappointed. There are SO many bad and disrespectful true crime podcasts, with grating hosts that make your ears bleed. Obscura always puts victims first. And facts before opinions, and I don’t mind when he states his opinion because he is always clear that you don’t have to think like him. (If anyone is upset about episodes being released right now, the host has gone through some difficult times lately. Be patient with him because the level of quality he puts into each episode is so worth it.)
